Yandex says to turn default page ya.ru into channel of own news

MOSCOW, Oct 26 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet company Yandex will change its default page ya.ru and will use it as a channel to share its news to retain the users, a company spokesperson told PRIME on Thursday.

Yandex in June added to the search page its virtual assistant Alice. In September, Dmitry Masyuk, head of the company’s business group of search and advertising technologies, said that Yandex introduces neural network YandexGPT into its products and plans that a half of its clients will directly or indirectly use neural networks.

Masyuk said in an interview to Wylsacom that ya.ru, which now contains a search line and points of entrance to the company’s popular services, will change, and the company wants to use it as a channel to tell Yandex’s news.
